About Carolyn Finney

Carolyn Finney is available to co-mediate with John on client request, and as our Mediation Project Manager, she responds to all phone and email inquiries about mediation. She studied at the Harvard Program on Negotiation (PON) from 1992 to 1994 while working as an environmental lobbyist in Massachusetts, and earned a PON Specialization Certificate in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution in 1994. Carolyn has participated in Conflict Coaching training as well as Adult Family mediation training, and is a mediation trainer. 

In addition to her coursework at Harvard, Carolyn completed a 300-hour internship with the Massachusetts Office of Dispute Resolution, where she worked on the community mediation process that led to the successful clean-up of the New Bedford, Massachusetts Superfund site. Carolyn trained as a mediator with the Cambridge and Quincy Court community mediation program. She has presented workshops on communication skills and is the author of an article published by the MIT Environmental Impact Assessment Review.

Carolyn received her M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and her B.A. from Duke University. She is the mother of three sons.
